I have noticed that recently the subject of the RC clarinet has come up.
Last year for the first time I tried a few RC clarinets in both the keys of
A and Bb. I like the sound of the R-13 clarinet in both keys more than the
RC. However, I did enjoy the "Feel" of the RC in many ways.

For me however, my topic of concern is tuning. The RC A Clarinets I tried
intrigued me a great deal. I noticed that the upper clarion notes were
beautifully low as compared with the R-13 A clarinet. I have heard of
clarinetists mix-matching their sets of clarinets. I understand that Larry
Combs did use an R-13 Bb clarinet and an RC A clarinet for a while.

I am wondering if there are any people out there that are playing on the R-13
Bb and RC A clarinets and would like to share your thoughts.

Thanks

Brad
