I suggest either putting a mouthpiece patch or some electrical tape on the
top of the mouthpiece, where the ligature makes contact. This may change the
sound of the mouthpiece slightly, you'll have to experiment. The other
solution is to change ligatures. It is possible a different inverted Bonade
will not do this.

By the way, I tried a BG ligature the other day which has an metal insert
similar to the Bonade which contacts the bark of the reed. I liked it very
much and plan to buy one and try it long term. Just for you interested folks.
