I don't want to beat a dead horse on this, but I am in the process of
buying a used R-13 for my son who has been playing for nearly two
years on a plastic Selmer (USA) CL300. I think the time that it took
him to adjust to the keywork on this instrument was the 5 seconds
or so it took him to put his cushion on the thumbrest.

The key size and placement on this plastic Selmer (and my old Selmer
Signet Special for that matter) is very similar to the R-13. The difference
is the action is so much more consistent and precise on the Buffet.
