I started giggling when I read this one... great post! However, it
brought to mind something that happened last weekend...

I was playing in an Easter Parade, and as we were assembling in the
parking lot before the parade, a friend came up to me, asking if I had a
spare ligature. She quickly explained that because she was using her
plastic clarinet rather than her nicer one, she thought she had left her
ligature in the other case although she'd moved her mouthpiece. She
couldn't find anyone with an extra one, so she finally took up a hair
elastic, wrapped it around her mouthpiece and reed and tried to warm up
with that. It worked, but luckily she found her ligature and didn't have
to play with the elastic... Now I'm curious, has anyone else been stuck
without a ligature, and what can you use to replace one? (And I don't
think I want to know if you've had to use duct tape! ;)
