I have a high school daughter who plays the clarinet and has just been
assigned a long research paper on the subject of its history.

She has plenty of basic information from encyclopedias and similar sources.
What I am hoping to find for her are some humorous, obscure, or otherwise
hard to find historical facts which she might find useful. I am hoping that
among the clarinet aficionados there will be a treasure of such information.
If so, I would love to hear about it, and my daughter would be most
grateful.
