Short, nerd-y note, but, I thought it was exactly the opposite: V-12s 1/2
strength stiffer than regulars.

My experience with the David Hite M41 mouthpiece is that it takes
somewhat stiffer reeds than your typical medium-close mouthpiece. If
you're going to give V-12's a try, I would start out on a box of 4's.
Other's might suggest 3.5's, but V-12's are typicallyi a half-strength
softer than regular Vandorens, so 4-strength on V-12 is probably a good
place to start.
