Subj: It seems I have tapped a gold mine!

My comments meant to deal with the effect that vibrato has on the
potential passion contained within music seems to have mined some
gold here. No pun intended, but passions seem to be heating up
on the subject. I particularly liked Lisa's response, not because
it agreed with mine, but because it deal with what I said at a much
more refined and precise level.

I think I want to refine my original comment about the crotch and move to
the most erotic organ in the human body; i.e., the brain--since that
is from where all eroticism begins with the various physical organs
simply obeying what the brain is directing them to do--does indeed
play a role as many have said. But I think that those who suggested
the brain meant "in an intellectual sense" and I mean "in an erotic
sense."

I always suspect people who make reference to the brain as only being
capable of pure, unsexual, aesthetic thoughts, with the other kind coming
from areas of the body to which adults do not make public reference.
It bespeaks a Victorian attitude towards sexuality in that it refuses
to acknowledge the influence of eroticism in music. It also refuses
to accept the fact that, under all that tinkle in Mozart's music, is
a powerful physical drive that is very, very emotional, speaking of
love and not the McSex that Lisa spoke of. And love contains a great
deal of the physicality to which I directed my original remarks.

While they were intended as tongue in cheek, my comments brought out
some interesting reactions, one or two bordering on being angry. I
may have reached inside some souls and touched places that were better
left alone if I read some of the reactions to my off-hand remarks
correctly.

I also learned that no matter how carefully one couches ones comments
with statements such as "in my opinion," when you touch someone where
they live, the reaction is to assume that one has made a
,btatement of factNot so.-
