Well, I guess this means that Buddy DeFranco, Bill Smith, and Eddie Daniels
are not modern. Vibrato is used by just about every jazz musician, whether
traditional, swing, or modern. I do find that the more modern players have
more control over their vibrato than the older players, such as Sidney
Bechet and Johnny Dodds.
