Don,
Glad to see that the Caltech music program is alive and well.

I harken back to 1957-61 as an undergraduate at Caltech and
in those days it was called simply the Caltech Band -- maybe
30 of us on the VERY best nights.

In those days the homecoming football game with Oxy was played
in the Rose Bowl (I kid you not!). The entire Bowl was lighted
and on the Oxy side there was maybe 100 spectators and on the
Caltech side maybe 50. I'm truly sorry that I don't have
some film footage of at least one of the half time events.
Twenty-five of us or so started at one of the goal posts
and marched out to the center of the field to spell CIT.
There weren't enough of us to do "Caltech." CIT in place,
we played the alma mater ("In southern California with grace
and splendor bound, Where the lofty mountain peaks. . . .)
and then marched back.

I'm glad to read that there is still some activity.

Oliver
