Hi. I was on this mailing list last summer and had to sign off
when I went to college, but I couldn't stay away. I don't get to
play as often as I would like to, but a friend and I play duets
together once a week. We are looking for some new material. If any
one knows of any good duets for clarinet and oboe (or flute), we
would really appreciate the help. Thanks,
Karen

I realize this message is a little late, but I sent an individual
response at first, without realizing it didn't go to the whole
Klarinet group:
Karen,
I have another suggestion for clarinet-oboe duets I'm not
sure anyone else has done. I ran across this at Carl Fischer's in
Chicago about 10 years ago.
I bought two versions of the JS Bach Duo Concerto, BWV1060.
This is for violin & oboe or two violins plus piano (reduction from
orchestra, of course). One version is in D minor, published by
Breitkopf (No. 5200). The other is in C minor, published by
International(No. 937). I did some editing so that they had the
same dynamics, articulations, and rehearsal numbers (actually
letters). I have used this for violin-clarinet, two clarinets, and
clarinet-oboe. The music is absolutely beautiful. The range and
technique will work if the players are good enough. I have
performed this piece with piano and these combinations at least 4-5
times. And it's always fun to just practice the duet parts without
the piano.
I would encourage others to look at this music.
