I just thought of some other works. I think Bernard Hermann used the
contra clarinet in some of his film music. Specifically "The Day the Earth
Stood Still" and "Journey to the Center of the Earth". There is CD out
with cuts from these movies and "Farenheit 431" and "The Seventh Voyage of
Sinbad". The CD is "Film Fantasy" on London.
Come to think of it I'm sure that the contra was used in the Gort
the robot scene.
