Hi! I don't know if anyone's interested, but my band (Ben Franklin JHS
Concert Band of Stevens Point, WI) is playing a concert at noon on
Monday, April 1 on the second floor of the Capital Dome in Madison, WI.
Our director says the Capital people said there'd be room for people to
listenwatch. We're the top band in the school, I think we're pretty
good, but (just so you know) the music is kind of lame (can't bring a lot
of percussion and the acoustics are supposed to be awful!). Anyway, I'm
announcing the songs, so if you get a chance to come, if you get a
chance, maybe introduce yourself to me afterwards.

Anyhoo, on to my queston: Does anyone know of any audition or
competition opportunities for young high school students (I'm a
freshman)? I tried out for state HS honors band already (still waiting
to find out!), and I'm getting ready for state soloensemble right now.
I live in Central Wisconsin, but I can travel a ways for stuff if anyone
knows of any opportunities to playcompete.
