I am so glad that Tony Coe's name came up here. While many are properly
enamored of Edie Daniels, who is an incredible clarinet player, there are
many jazz clarinetists out there who I, fo one, think of as more
intersting jazz musicians. Coe rates up there with the best of them; he
is equally at home in avant guarde settings as in more traditional modern
jazz groups. To many he is known primarily as a tenor sax player, but he
is actually one of the most interesting jazz clarinetists alive. Another
unsung jazz clarinetist is Perry Robinson.
