When I was just out of college, I went to a repairman in NJ named Herb
Kleeman. If I remember the details correctly, Herb and his father had
worked on the design and making of the Penzel-Mueller clarinets. They
were considered professional quality instruments.

At the time, one of the local musical instrument shops serving a large
part of northern NJ came upon a fair number of these instruments, and
some of them ended up in the high school band in the system where I
taught. I remember being impressed with their quality.
