Here are some mpces that I have some success on with Vandoren Blackmasters.
I am currently playing on a Gigliotti #2 facing, though I have tried the P34
with no problems. I have also had success with Gennusa's mpces with the
b-masters though of course the throat tones are low. (beautiful sound though)
Also, almost any of the Hite mpces are good with the reeds(my current backup
is a Hite M43). I have been playing on these reeds since their introduction
and have found a couple of items that may be of help with whatever your
setup. They are consistently cut with a lot of wood all the way up the left
side and a heavy spot on the right side just below the tip (approx. 2mm). I
have had the same chirping problems but have found that just balancing the
reed fixed alot of the problems. I hope this can be of some help in your
Quest. Bill Kirkley freelancer in Boston. Kirklyo@-----.com
