After thirteen years of not touching a clarinet, I got talked into buying
a bass and joining a community band. The first concert included
Nelhybel's rather challenging Trittico. I nearly quit. However, I plugged away,
played the best I could, and fell absolutely in love with this moody,
edgy piece. I have yet to play a better bass clarinet part in a
band composition.

Nelhybel's passing is a huge loss to wind bands everywhere.
