This seems like quite the leap from talking about substituting Bb
for A clarinet or vise versa. Now, let's just take the notes and fill in
whatever instrument we want. How about the Mozart Concerto on the C Melody
sax with an organ grinder (inc. monkey) as the accompaniment. Didn't they
do that in Rossini's day with the opera tunes?
Should instruments steal repertoire? I guess so. Why doesn't
someone play Debussy's Syrinx in front of a flutist and see what they
think.
