I didn't make it to the Martino because I went to a concert that Sean Osborn
(of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra) gave of clarinet, cello and piano trios
(Beethoven, Zemlinsky and Brahms). However, I saw Dennis Smylie at that
concert and he had managed to hear the Martino before he came over to Sean's
concert. The soloists were current Juilliard Students except for the contra,
which was played by a recent graduate. The orchestra was the Juilliard
orchestra. That's all I know.

By the way, Sean Played well. We hadn't really seen each other since we were
at Interlochen together many years ago. We went to dinner afterward and
caught up on many years of happenings! Currently Sean is playing principal on
the Met's Salome run (Joe Rabbi has been on sick leave for a while), if
anyone hears a broadcast. I am going to try to get to one of the last 3
performances.
