Nils,
1. The easy way would be to take an empty toilet paper roll and
cut it to the right length (or extend it) for an in tune low Eb. You could
insert this into the bell in the rests befor the passage and then take it
out when done with the passage. Wrap a rubber band around the insert end
so that it grips the bell better.

2. Check with Bob Spring. His dissertation was on double tonging
he's at e-mail: Robert.Spring@-----.BITNET He has a nice 5-6 page handout
that gets right into how to do double tonging.
