I used Akai EWI 6-7 years ago (an analog MIDI horn) and gave up on it as it
forces me to adapt to its peculiarities (e.g. you couldn't even rest your
fingers on the keys as it will produce sound). WX7 is better in this
respect.
Initially I intended to explore electronic sound possibilites not possible
on digital keyboards (e.g. the "human feeling" of it). EWI as an electronic
wind instrument have that possibility and it's good in that sense. 2 years
ago I found out that MAX software from IRCAM plus my Mac computer + midi
sound modules could provide even -endless- creative possibility. But I'm
afraid now we're talking about electronic music.

I'll stop here and let's get back to the clarinet business.
