Greetings - I have one of those (Casio digital horn), played it many times
in concert and on a CD (Vancouver Wind Trio). Best $29 I ever spent. I use
it for MIDI input on my MAC for music copying/publishing too - haven't done
anything that really needed a keyboard yet, so I haven't bought one. I've
played both the Yamaha and the Akai (?) EWI and personally I don't like the
EWI because it has touch plates instead of moving keys. But I only know two
pros who use wind controllers and they both use the EWI - possibly because
it came out first and they didn't feel like making the switch.

BTW, there's a whole mailing list devoted to wind controllers, which
happens to be maintained at the very university I'm writing from, Memorial
U of Newfoundland. You can join this group by sending the message "sub WIND
your name" to <listserv@-----.ca> (it's a listserv, just like this
one).
