Let's not leave out Daniel Bonade, another contemporary. He affected the face
of American clarinet playing quite significantly with both his playing and
teaching. At a time when many American orchestras featured German
clarinetists playing German clarinets, Bonade managed to have more influence
on the future of American clarinet playing than any of them, sending out
hoardes of terrific students to the orchestral world.
