I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is
Jenny Magsamen, and I'm a sophomore Music Education
major at Furman University in Greenville, SC. I've been
lurking around the list for about five months now,
quietly taking in all your opinions and advice.
My clarinet teacher, Dr. Robert Chesebro, made me
do some transpositions of simple things out of beginner
books and then of Rose etudes. Now the band director
here, Dr. Les Hicken, is having us transpose chorales in
our warm-ups to get us thinking. Just thought I'd let
you know that teaching transposition isn't dead!!
