To tie 2 threads together a bit, I was atracted to the clarinet because
it was cheap - meaning, I couldn't afford an oboe, and someone I knew was
selling a clarinet because he liked the sop. sax. better. Cheaper (in
quality) clarinets are certainly cheaper over here than most other
instruments - execept possibly flutes, as there are cheapos from
both Chinas around.
