Regarding Ken's message. I recently read an article on klezmer music.
Apparently the traditional scales fall very well on a C instrument. I don't
know of any newer C's for sale but "Lark", a company specializing in hard
to find and unusual instruments, has two old ones listed in their catalog.
They have a home page that was already mentioned in this list. I don't have
the full address but if you run a search for "Lark in the Morning" you should
find it. Anyone else interested in 19th century clarinets should check it out.
The used instruments aren't listed in the regular catalog descriptions (as far
as I can tell.) You need to go to the price list and check the "A" section, cla
rinets are interspersed throughout the used/antique instrument section.
I have a request of my own: If anyone has heard of, owns, or has played a
Robert(?) I would love to hear about it. The company was either started or
bought by Henri Leroy, who happened to be my Grandfather's (George M. Jenkins)
clarinet teacher.
Thanks for any information you can provide.
