Nice post, Stan. This thread keeps bringing to mind a quote
from an otherwise forgettable Fellini movie called
"Orchestra Rehearsal." As I remember, there is an old
clarinet player remembering a compliment from decades
earlier that had clearly made this character's career:
"Toscanini said, 'I hear a nice clarinet sound.'" It's a
shame the rest of the movie wasn't up to that moment.
