Keith Stein in his "The Art of Clarinet Playing" (what's the name the
series, anyway? I also have "The Art of Piano Playing" and both are
extremely valuable resources) compares double-lip development to the
concept of interval training for athletes-----use the muscle, rest it,
use it again. I do this throughout practice, temporarily switching long
enough to rest, then back to 2 lips. I've playing double lip for about
2.5 years.
