Dear Dan,

With regard to J. Roger Cole's post, you just proved his point
about up-tightedness. Prof. Cole was simply asking for more people to
come forth and offer their opinions regarding their equipment. Sure, if
he were only wanting data he could read the history files, but isn't it
obvious that by joining the list he's seeking input from people with which
he can keep a current ongoing discussion pertaining to equipment. You
can never say too much about the equipment we clarinet players use. It
is an on-going debate and there is always new information coming forth.
Prof. Cole brought up two types of equipment (the Vandoren Blackmaster
reeds and the Peter Eaton mouthpieces) that in the time I've been on the list
(six months) I have never seen been discussed in this forum. I too would
be quite interested to see what other folks have to say about his
set-up. My advice to you, Dan, is learn to use the delete button. No
one is forcing you to read or respond to any of the topics brought up on
this list. Perhaps then our time on the list won't be wasted by whiners.

Alexis Howard

P.S. Having been a quiet observer of the Klarinetlist for the past six
months, I'm quite aware of the status with which Mr. Dan Leeson is regarded
on this list. Yes, my comments were quite unorthodox (some might even
say blasphemous). However, when Mr. Dan leeson resorts to such cheap
shots as attacking the "J" in J. Roger Cole, someone has to speak up.
