This is my first attempt to send anything to the Klarinet list (or anywhere
else for that matter!) so I beg forgivedness if I really mess this up!

To Scott & anyone one else out there with an interest in unusual or older
instruments, or books on the subject, I found an interesting home page ...
it is the Lark in the Morning Home Page & you can find them at
Larkinam@-----.com

They are in Mendocino, California & have two stores & sell books, videos,
sheet music, instruments (new, old & antique), & have info on unusual
instruments, history etc! If I ever get out their way this is a store that
will be on the top of my list of things to do!

They also have something called Lark Music Celebration that takes place this
year from Aug 2 to 10, and its a venue (camp if you will) for music & dance
of a traditional nature. I counted 66 instructors for everything from
Flamenco guitar , middle eastern drumming, Yugoslavian music, cuban &
Brazilian Band, Uilleann Pipes, Reed Making, Tin Whistle, Irish
Mandolinn,Mandocello, Celtic harp, Celtic Strings, Bodhran, Balkan Singing,
Hammered Dulcimer,Cajun & Zydeco Dance, & so on. It appears to be quite
informal, not that expensive, and geared for musicians of all skill levels.
The e-mail address for the Lark Music Celebration is larkinam@-----.

As I am new to the list a short introduction might be in order. I live in
Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, & play clarinet in the local community
orchestra, and Wellington Winds (a local wind ensemble of roughly 50 wind
players who are mostly people who either play professionally, have played
professionally, are music educators, or who have other full time jobs but
have a serious interest in music...altogether a thoroughly enjoyable &
challenging group to play in) and I also play chamber music whenever the
opportunity presents itself. I did take lessons in high school, then spent
a few years where the clarinet hibernated in its case, & then took it up on
a very casual basis again in the mid 1980's. Due to a very heavy work
schedule I was unable to play very much until about a year & a half ago.
The work schedule became almost normal & I am playing now able to do what I
want with my time, so I have been taking lessons again & playing whenever &
wherever possible & really 1000% enjoying it!

Am enjoying the list comments & if this send works may respond in shorter
but more regular form.

Allison
