Klarinet Archive - Posting 000122.txt from 1996/03
From: "Lorne G. Buick" <mcheramy@-----.CA> Subj: Luis Rossi at MSU Date: Tue, 5 Mar 1996 13:50:32 -0500
There was another question about Rossi clarinets today which reminded me of
the following:
Luis Rossi will be at Michigan State (East Lansing) as one of the three (?)
visiting artist/instructors replacing Elsa Ludewig during her sabbatical.
He'll be there from March 11 'til the end of April (I think)- he plays his
own clarinets (of course) and presumably will have samples of his different
models that people could try out. He is a great player and teacher- well
worth the trip if you have the chance to hear/see him. And I highly
recommend his clarinets, especially if you have the chance to talk to him
personally about different options etc. (and of course try them yourself!).
(I've been playing Rossi clarinets for five years or so.)
Also, he'll be giving a summer course after the ICA convention, at the
Ostend Conservatory (Belgium), along with Howard Klug (of IU), Robert
Spring (ASU), and Guido Six (Belgium- Ostend Conservatory?). Dates are July
8-12; student fees ~$250, transportation from Paris arranged. Contact Guido
Six by fax (3258-510294) or phone (3258-523394).
Or talk to Luis while he's at MSU!
Or email Robert Spring- he's on the list- maybe he'll even respond to this
message with more info... (?)
