I agree. But every player has different priorities based upon where he or she is
playing
(orchestra, chamber, solo), where they are in terms of experience with the
clarinet, and what
interests them most (tone or response, blending with other players or perfecting
one's
own style for private playing). What's interesting about this discussion group
is watching all
these topics go by (flutter tonguing, cork grease, instrument cases, bass
clarinets, VIBRATO).
There are scores of different types of players on this list from awesome
performers and
teachers to complete amateurs. It's interesting to see the catholicity. Why ask
why here?
Contribute or don't. I delete messages I find I don't relate to.
