Please permit a different opinion. I started out on the Selmer USA (old
Bundy) bass clarinet and could not stand the keywork and the sound. The
workmanship was so sloppy that four pads had to be replaced immediately.
It may be that Bay reworks the instruments so that they are very nice to
play, but the one I had was a hinderance to musical development. Perhaps
the older Bundy's were better, but this instrument was a horror, and the
sloppy way in which it had been assembled was something to behold. I
learned a lesson from all of this...
