Never heard of a Conn saxophone called a "Cigar Cutter." Cigar cutters were
made by Selmer from 1930 until 1934, and were distinguished by an octave key
mechanism which resembled a cigar cutter; thus the nickname. Some of the
altos were the best Selmer ever made, in terms of sound. Lee Callet
