The recent exchanges about the Ab clarinet prompt me to send in a caveat, i.
e., *Don't assume you will be able to play one - Your hands may well be too
large*.

I have an Albert system Ab, but it is impossible for me to play it, as my
hands are too large. I can play a Boehm Eb without getting my fingers on the
wrong keys. I can manage a piccolo - my fingers are not unusually wide.
I've had various people try to hold the Ab and a six-year old had hands that
naturally covered the holes!
