For your interest, I saw them used in the piazza San Marco in Venice
during the summer evening concerts. Most impressive repertory, as the
band performed the last act of Rigloletto and then a large portion of a
Wagner opera--alas, the name escapes me as it was 20 years ago.

Also, a fellow by the name of Larry Linkin (the spelling may be
incorrect) performed five different clarinets in a five-movement piece
by Alfred Reed with the Furman University Band. Following that, he then
came out and did an encore on the Ab Clarinet! Larry lives (or lived)
in Chicago and was working for NAMM (Nat'l Assoc. of Music
Merchandisers--I think) at the time.
