I don't know if Dave Schifrin is still playing the same mouthpiece, but
as of the time he was teaching at Yale he played a James Kanter
mouthpiece. I saw a few "copies" that Jim had made for some of Dave's
students and I found them to be fairly unusual in that the facing
lenght was about 20mm. Obviously Dave made it work. I think he has one
of the great clarinet sounds today and is a truly imaginative artist.
