I'm a learner too. Breathing -where, how big a breath- is a problem. When
you learn how to breathe for your current piece, you will have a more
demanding piece of music, and ever more demanding pieces. It is like
mountain climbing: you reach a crest only to see another range in the
distance. From what I've seen of professionals, breathing is only one kind
of many challenges. The challenges always yeild to new challenges.
Meanwhile, mark your music where you think there is a possible breath space.
Use a pencil with an eraser. Your teacher will (should) help with your
phrasing to help keep you from pausing in stupid places. Practice. Make new
marks on your music as you improve. Practice, practice, practice and
practise, practise practise.
