Re mouthpieces - where does the evaluation of a mouthpiece stop and the
evaluation of a reed begin? If something is wrong with one or the other
(and/or with one's embouchure, naturally!), are there clear indications
as to where the trouble stems from?
Re playing temperature - I think David N. is pretty darn lucky to be able
to play in temperatures as high as the mid-70s Fahrenheit. Our orch. often
finds
itself rehearsing with freezing feet and in ambient temperatures probably
somewhere in the fifties.
