Ed,

I have tried the Vandoren White Master on E Flat mouthpieces and
generally liked the result. The overall effect is of a powerful and
resonant reed, great in Mahler, Strauss, concert bands, etc. I'm not
sure I'd choose this sort of reed in something like Ravel. The weaker
strengths suited me best (2+ or 3).

The Vandoren Black Master are quite a different shape and no good for
this purpose.

Incidentally does anyone know of an E Flat mouthpiece which is long in
the lay and narrow in the tip opening in a German style, but which
blows a Buffet or Yamaha E Flat clarinet in tune?
