As far as I could tell, just about all the kids in the movie were actually
playing their instruments, not just pretending. But they were also playing
along with the sound track so at least they were in sync with the actual
music. I stayed to watch the credits, and did notice a youth symphony
(Seattle?) was listed, so I assume the kids were really musicians.
