I have a metal clarinet that another family member used as an ash tray
for years. It doesn't stand up too straight, but I may try to
make a lamp out of it anyway, It still has age-old pads on it.
This one sits on our fireplace with the fireplace irons.

Lamp? Don't you mean, uh, candlestick holder? Mine sits on a
bookshelf,
very museum-like.
