I have to wonder if all the talk about tonal differences between
different brands/models of instruments is so much marketing hype. If
the difference in sound between players is greater on average than the
difference in sound between instruments, than the actual brand of
instrument one plays would be more irrelevant than the manufacturers
might want you to think.

I wonder if anyone has ever done a study about this? :-)
