Well, if the band you are participating in now isn't challenging you, you
SHOULD leave the band. After all, if he made the music so hard that the
seventh graders couldn't play it, then you will have an even smaller band
because that will drop the 7th and 8th grade kids out. That's exactly what
I did. Now, I'm in a town Band. The music is much harder and the band
soundes better with more experienced players!! I suggest you look for a
town organization and maybe talk with the conductor. Or, if you have a
music teacher, ask him if he knows of any bands you'd be interested in.
