I would like to take a moment to change the direction of the discussion.
This past week I got the chance to go to see Jazz at Lincoln Center's
presentation of their 1996 winter tour here in Boone. It featured Wynton
Marsalis, and many other jazz greats making up a great group. The music
was Marsalis, Thelonious Monk, and Jelly Roll Morton. It featured Dr.
Michael White playing New Orleans Jazz Style on clarinet.

I myself am playing a jazz sonata by templeton, and have always been
interested in Jazz on the clarinet, as well as its classical aspect. I
would like to get more information about jazz clarinet and its playing.
I would like to know if anyone has ever played a jazz piece for clarinet,
if anyone is also a serious jazz clarinetist, be it new orleans style or
whatever, and I would just like to get some opinions about jazz for the
clarinet.
