I understand that before the E Flat became the main piccolo clarinet that
there was an instrument in high F, often used in military bands.
In the Cambridge Companion to the Clarinet it is stated that Beethoven used
it in his military marches WoO 18, WoO 19 and WoO24?
Does anyone know of any recordings of these works on authentic/original
instruments or a modern recordings using a modern high F (if such as thing
exists)?
Does anyone know of any recordings, Beethoven or otherwise, using this
instrument.
