Leaving the Clarinet on the stand, even for beginners, should not be
tolerated. You, as an educator, must set the standard by which your students
should abide. Strive for high standards and be firm, but fair. The students
will respect you for it in the long-run.

I taught beginner band for 15 years. Just because they are beginners, don't
accept less than good habits. They *CAN* and will form good habits, if you
start with sound basic fundamentals.
