OK, one thing I did like about the movie was that the kids in the band were
actually playing (along with the sound track), but at least it wasn't the
typical hollywood production where posture and hand positions were totally
incompatible with trying to play and instrument. But, as many of my middle
school aged students (who are not even clarinet players) pointed out, that if
she would firm up her embouchure and breath correctly, she wouldn't have all
the problems playing. That was something a "real" music teacher would insist
on, not a "hollywood" one.

However, I do think the movie was a great film, and one has to remember that
the main idea behind it was a tribute to teachers, not necessarily the music
teachers specifically. However, IMHO, music teachers and coaches seem to
have an overall greater impact on kids lives than do the average classroom
teachers. Probably because they spend several years with the kids.
