Please excuse my previous message, I was having problems getting
through. As for Mr. Holland, I haven't seen the movie but I think
that it's about time that Hollywood came out with a movie that we all
can identify with. Here in Thunder Bay, we have had so many cuts
that music is now only offered in the high schools, and only a few at
that. Now we have a movie that deals with almost exactly that. Who
hasn't know a teacher like Mr. Holland, one who would do almost
anything for this passion? Teachers like that do exist (as few as
they are) and we shouldn't condemn them for believing in something.
As for sentimentality, I say the more the better! Maybe we can wake
up a few hard hearted politicians not far from here. We finally have
a movie that alot can relate to, especially in a town that is so
sports oriented. What about Chariots of Fire? Everybody was so
excited about track after that, so why can't music be the thing for
today? But like I said, I haven't seen the movie, so may opinion may
change. But for now, I'll continue believing in people that think
that they can make a diference.

By the way, I would like to say hi to Lorne Buick, who was my
clarinet teacher at Lakehead University last year.
