I have two which I believe are what you are talking about (I got them form
Weiner in NY and the facings are given as 6, 7 or 8). I think they are made
of good rubber material and are capable of a good sound and intonation,
despite the bore being a bit small. I found the facings on them to be very
bad, but since I was determined to see if they would play like a Chedeville
(that is what is marked on them) I refaced them and removed the convex roll
over in the baffle near the tip rail with fairly good results. I tried
several though and did not find any to be enjoyable to play "as is" and would
not recommend them particularly.
I would be curious if we are talking about the same ones.
