Eddie,
I don't play a clarinet that's not been overhauled. The first
thing I do after purchasing a clarinet is call Tim Clark and schedule a
complete overhaul. I used to go to Bill Branen in Evanston, Il when I was
living in Wisconsin. Bill or Tim does excellent work. It hurts my ears to
hear a student play on a clarinet that sounds like a member of the
percussion section. After the complete overhaul, I usually stop by Tims
about twice a year with all clarinets or bass. The price might seem high
($300-400) but the clarinet will be in the best playing shape and the
responce (sound and keywork) will be fantastic. Do It!!!
